Every city claims to have the "best location". Derby enjoys its status as being the city located in the very centre of the UK. The city has excellent road links to the regional and national motorway network, the M1 motorway is easily accessible via two junctions (j24 and j25) and the city is considered to be within 2 hours driving distance of the majority of the primary cities and commercial centres throughout England. Closer to home, Nottingham, Leicester, Sheffield and Birmingham are all within easy reach.

Derby is a very accessible city with a resident population of approximately 242,000.
